The Plant Based Treaty team are in Glasgow for two weeks of action during COP26, from 31 Oct – 12 Nov.
And they’re getting noticed! Paul McCartney’s Meat Free Monday campaign says Endorsing a Plant Based Treaty is one of the 5 actions everyone should take to tackle the climate emergency. And Moby has asked the COP26 world leaders to endorse the treaty in a stark video.
As part of the street campaign, UP created a 1 minute dance animation which is happening nightly in George Square.
The light show animation is projected onto buildings and statues along with a choreographed dance by Plant Based Treaty reps, and everyone is encouraged to join in. Music by Grammy-award-winning Rodrigo y Gabriela.
Why a Treaty?
There has never been a more urgent need for a Plant Based Treaty. The Paris Climate Agreement is silent on animal agriculture, despite it being a critical contributor to global warming and an essential part of meeting climate goals. The Treaty aims to address and mitigate the core causes of climate change, building a fairer, healthier, greener world – for all. Anybody can sign up to the treaty; as an individual, organization, business or as a city, state or province. It’s free, quick and it’s here.
There’s a daily list of events here.
