YouTube has over 1 billion users who watch hundreds of millions of video every day – there’s little doubt that video is an excellent vehicle for your online charity campaign.
So, you need to produce a video for your organisation. Firstly, it will need to hook your audience in within the first 10 seconds. But what do you want them to do and feel?
Do you want to motivate change? Galvanise communities to stand up for what’s right? Influence the world and make it a better place? Increase donors? Make people shout? Make people cry?
It may be your first instinct to show the desperate problem that your organisation is trying to solve, but consider whether a better tack is to make people feel good about their involvement and be inspired by a warm and fuzzy feeling, rather than one of guilt. Take a look at this video for Friends of the Earth’s Bee Cause.
And once they’ve watched your video, make sure to include a call to action. Whether that’s making a change in themselves, making a donation, signing up to a fundraising event or signing a petition. Give viewers the opportunity to take action.
Working for charities of all sizes, we create targeted, high quality campaign, fundraising and advocacy videos that tell your story, from concept, to storyboard, to production and delivery.
